C&K - Key Change

Musical Theatre Workshops In Prisons & Schools

Expanding access. Building confidence. Creating visible pathways.

What to Expect

Carys & Knightley deliver structured six-week musical theatre programmes, focusing on a curriculum that integrates; vocal technique, movement-direction, dance, creative writing, and ensemble practice, supporting participants towards a shared creative outcome developed progressively over six-weeks.

❋ Intentional Structure

C&K build bespoke programmes based on practical hands-on experience, tailored to the individual goals and needs of prisons and schools. These programmes cover an array of artsistic disciplines which comprise the Musical Theatre artform. Participants recieve one-to-one mentorship as well as supportative learning in intimate group enviroments where confidence and creativity are both encouraged and inspired.

❋ Familiar Voices

For many participants, this programme represents their first sustained engagement with professional artists who share similar cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Representation in this context is not symbolic; it is relational and immediate. In that way C&K represent an extremely unique presence of a tangible, and credible model of progression in a sector where such visibility remains limited.

❋ Expert Facilitation

Delivery structure is skills based and aligned with professional rehearsal methodologies and practices used to produce our multi-award-winning original musical, DOMITIUS (produced in 2021 under our SPV D.P.C. LLP). This approach allows us to translate professional standards into accesible, structured delivery. Participants engage with a process that reflects how work is made at scale.

❋ A Supportive Space

Workshops introduce routine, responsibility, and goal-oriented process. Our approach prioritisies creativity within a structured, supportative environment, contributing to improved wellbeing, increased confidence, and strengthened problem solving skill sets. The space allows participants to take creative risks without fear of ridicule or dimissal, learning to articulate ideas and respond with intention.

Structured Creativity,
Lasting Impact

Creative practice can be a powerful tool when delivered with structure and intent.

Our programmes bring professional musical theatre practice into prisons, schools, and community settings. Through structured sessions in performance, movement, writing, and ensemble work, participants build real-world and transferable skills grounded in collaboration and accountability.
